Casa do Xico accommodates six people and features a fully equipped and decorated kitchen, a laundry room, a living room with a double sofa bed, a full bathroom, and a second floor consisting of two suites with private bathrooms. This house, set in an 18th-century property, preserves its original features blended with well-being and charm in every detail, ensuring all the comfort for your vacation.

In addition to a house prepared to welcome you in both warmer and colder months, you will have exclusive access to a saltwater pool, a lounge area with a barbecue, a meticulously maintained garden, and access to vineyards and woods on the hectares of this century-old property. Our history

“Once upon a time, there was a lovely little house where my great-grandmother was born, the daughter of the caretakers of Quinta de Freixieiro, who was raised by the ladies of the ‘big house.’ After acquiring the Quinta, we reconstructed the little house where Xico, the eldest son of a family that has been with us for 40 years, moved in after getting married. The ‘brave one,’ in every sense, created his family here, brought his dreams to life, and contributed to this estate.

Day or night, Sundays or holidays, you would hear: ‘Oh, Xico!’ and there he would come to assist whoever needed it. His new dreams took him away from here (but not too far), and it was impossible for this house to have any other name than Casa do Xico!” – Isabel Faria

With a history rooted in a traditional Minho farming house where its people were devoted to agriculture and grape harvesting, enduring milestones in its history and story, Casa do Xico has transformed into a welcoming home for all who visit northern Portugal.

In this province, on each day of the week, there is a market in one or several different cities: Monday in Ponte de Lima/Santo Tirso; Tuesday in Braga; Wednesday in Famalicão, Valença, Caminha, and Arcos de Valdevez; Thursday in Barcelos (the most important); Friday in Guimarães; and Saturday in Vila Nova de Cerveira. Throughout the year, we are immersed in various cultural, musical, and traditional events. The main festivals include: Barcelos – Festival of the Crosses (April/May), Viana do Castelo – Festas da Senhora da Agonia (August), Porto and Braga – St. John’s Festival (June 23/24), Guimarães – Gualterianas (July/August), and Ponte de Lima – Feiras Novas (September).
